Battery Electric

Battery electric vehicles use a battery to power the vehicle. The battery is charged by plugging into a charging station. Most battery EV owners have a charger at home, where they can charge during off-peak hours overnight.

Plug-In Hybrid

Plug-in electric hybrid vehicles have a smaller battery that is used in conjunction with a traditional engine to power the vehicle. Most plug-in electric vehicle owners can utilize the battery power for their daily commute, as you can typically drive up to 40 miles on the charge. Once the battery is drained, the gas engine takes over.
